Owners Of Daily Hampshire Gazette To Purchase The Valley Advocate

The Hartford Courant Company today announced plans to sell the Valley Advocate, a New Mass. Media publication, to Newspapers of New England, Inc. (NNE), the owner of the Daily Hampshire Gazette, the Recorder, and several daily and weekly newspapers in New Hampshire.

Gazette publisher Aaron Julien and Steve Carver, president, publisher and chief executive officer of the Hartford Courant, announced the acquisition, which is expected to be completed by the end of December under the terms of a conditional purchase-and-sale agreement.
