BPW Approves Monies For Snow Management

The winter season in Northampton brings with it many jarring changes to life here in the Happy Valley. One of the more mundane of these is the approval of money by the BPW for various snow management measures. According to minutes of recent BPW meetings, the following expenditures were approved:

--$217,980.00 for "Contract for Treated Salt to WeCare Organics"
--$31,370.56 for a "Contract for Snow Insurance to Whalen Insurance"
--Not to exceed $24,999.00 for "Contract for Liquid De-Icing to I.M.U.S."
--$16,750.00 for "Contract for Winter Sand to Bill Willard"
-$73.00 per hour for two trucks and $99.00 per hour for one truck and $5.50 per hour for a plow plus a monthly fuel adjustment for "Contract for Snow Plowing to William Korza"
--$73.00 per hour for two trucks and $74.00 per hour for one truck plus a monthly fuel adjustment for "Contract for Snow Plowing to D. Melnik Trucking"
--$73.00 per hour plus a monthly fuel adjustment for "Contract for Snow Plowing to Christopher Miller"
--$73.00 per hour plus a monthly fuel adjustment for "Contract for Snow Plowing to Matthew Shippee"
