This piece of work? art? activism? was seen in the tree that used to exist behind the Unitarian Society Church on Main St. (between Memorial and City Hall) I first noticed it early this summer, and would check on it occasionally. Recently, walking back there to view it, the tree had gone missing. It seems that the tree was cut down sometime in September. All that remains now is a stump, and these photos. I've no idea who or what the The Autumn Preservation Society is. Was it an art project? An advocacy group for trees? Was it the work of a secret branch of the tree stewards? Who knows. Any information one might have would be greatly appreciated, and as always, please leave it in the comments below.
